Nirmaan provides an integrated Internship Course on Addiction Recovery Education (iCARE) for the students and research persons who are interested to work on this field.
Course Syllabus
- A thorough and analytical description of 12 Step Recovery Program.
- Attending educational lectures by Service Providers of Nirmaan on various topics related to addiction & Recovery.
- Attending and observing the Group Meetings.
- Attending and observing Intra Group Therapy method.
- Attending and observing Encounter Sessions.
- One to one counseling session with in-house patients.
- Attending Alcoholics Anonymous & Narcotics Anonymous meetings.
- Attending Family Orientation Therapy & Family Case Study.
- Participating and conducting Topic Analysis Session and Group Meetings
- Reading literatures of Alcoholics Anonymous & Narcotics Anonymous.
- Getting updated with National & State policies on Substance Abuse.
- Learning Rehabilitation infrastructure by participating in enquiry feedback, admission process, routine management, self helped community service and Rehab management.
- Regular meeting and feedback with Research Wing of Nirmaan.
- Attending & performing in Yoga & Meditation sessions.
- Participating various awareness programs conducted by Nirmaan.
12 Principles to be Followed by an Intern During the Stay
- An intern at all the time must follow the traditions and guidelines that has been regulated inside the facility. An intern must attend all the sessions during the routine period including participating the outside activities of the facility.
- An intern at all the time must maintain dress code inside the Nirmaan premises. For Boys – it is prohibited to wear any kind of casual wears, shorts, sleeveless, hats & caps, bandana, lockets & jewelries, sunglasses. For girls – it is prohibited to wear the aforesaid wears including any kind of body exposing cloths, reveling or transparent fabrics, minis & wrap on, deep cut openings etc.
- An intern at all the time must carry the College ID Card inside the Nirmaan premises.
- An intern at all the time must maintain a professional relationship with the patients and visitors by avoiding all types of informal conversations. Before conducting any kind of orientation with the patients or with any concern family, an intern must take the approval of the Nirmaan authority.
- An intern at all the time must be well disciplined. Regular attendance will be taken at 09:50 AM and late attendee will be marked accordingly.
- An intern at all the time must consider that Nirmaan is a priority place for the in-house patients and hence respecting the dignity of a patient is the prime liability of an intern.
- An intern at all the time should maintain the secrecy & anonymity of all the patients and their families. Confidentiality must be kept against the information those are gathered during various sessions with the patients and families.
- An intern at all the time must inform in written to the Authority well in advance when taking leave.
- An intern at all the time should remember that a patient must not be given access to cell phones, money or any other thing those are not permitted including carrying message of a patient to a known person. It is restricted to share personal details like phone numbers, home address, social media IDs etc of an intern with the patients and visitors or vice versa.
- An intern at all the time should be devoted to the primary purpose and have to submit the project report in black & white with duplicate copy in advance suggestively 1 day prior to the end of course without which completion certificate will not be issued.
- An intern at all the time can take the help of a Counselor for any unforeseen problems. After every formal interaction with the patient or with the families, an intern must discuss the same with the concern counselor for feedback.
- The internship of an intern may be terminated prematurely by Nirmaan Authority at any time in case of breach in the above Principles.

- Roaming inside the campus with cell phone
- Keeping utensil unclean after using
- Gossiping
- Loud conversations
- Carrying irrelevant material not related to the internship
- Bringing friends
- Staying after the routine timing as fixed by the authority
- Late arrival in the sessions
